Updated Court Booking Rules Announced By ABA

Auckland Badminton Association Announces Updated Court Booking Rules

In a bid to enhance accessibility and ensure fair usage of court facilities, the Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) is updating its terms and conditions this August. The changes aim to make booking courts easier and more equitable for a wider range of stakeholders.

Key Policy Changes:

  1. Advance Notice for Court Changes:
    • New Requirement: Court changes must now be made 48 hours in advance, instead of the previous 24 hours.
    • Impact: This adjustment will allow ABA to better manage court availability, ensuring that cancelled bookings can be reallocated to other players in a timely manner.
  2. Booking Duration Restrictions:
    • New Rule: Court bookings will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours within any 6-hour window.
    • Impact: This change is designed to prevent extended monopolization of courts, allowing more people the opportunity to enjoy playing badminton at ABA Stadium.

"We believe these changes will lead to more people being able to enjoy playing badminton at ABA Stadium," said John McGregor ABA GM. "Our goal is to create a more inclusive and accessible environment for all badminton enthusiasts."

The ABA encourages all members and stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the updated terms and conditions. These changes will take effect in August and are part of ABA's ongoing commitment to improving the badminton experience for everyone.
