Adrian Zhang to Manage ABA Senior Division 3 and 4 Teams for 2025 Season

Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) is excited to announce that Adrian Zhang will manage the Senior Division 3 team and potentially a Division 4 team for the upcoming 2025 season. This offers a unique and flexible opportunity for players to compete while managing their own costs and commitments.

Adrian will be responsible for organizing and leading the teams, much like how ABA’s Masters teams operate. Players who sign up commit to playing all ties throughout the 2025 season. Players will represent ABA, wearing the official navy 2024 shirts during competition.

In terms of training, players have the option to join the ABA Aspiring Squad or choose not to train with ABA and instead pay fees on a per-tie basis. Players who opt into ABA training will receive all the benefits of ABA representative players, such as access to high-level coaching and support. For those who prefer external training, Adrian will arrange sessions and manage payments directly.

This model allows players to take control of their own fees and expenses. ABA will provide discounted court rates for team bookings, but players will manage their own shuttle purchases and registration fees.

By offering a low-cost, flexible alternative, this setup ensures that players can continue to develop and compete under the ABA banner with greater autonomy. For those interested in being part of the Senior Division teams for 2025, please complete the no obligation expression of interest for further information.
