Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) is excited to announce the launch of the ABA Club Grassroots Development Fund, a new initiative for 2025 designed to support ABA-affiliated clubs in expanding grassroots programs that increase badminton participation, especially among underrepresented groups. This fund aligns with ABA’s mission to provide "Every Opportunity for Participation in Badminton," reinforcing its dedication to strengthening and growing the sport across Auckland.
Through this fund, clubs can apply for grants up to $3,000 to develop new programs targeting groups including Māori and Pasifika, women of all ages, juniors, Para-Badminton athletes, players over 60, and other minority or emerging communities in need of support. The fund also covers essential expenses such as coaching, equipment, venue hire, and marketing, with additional guidance available from ABA to help clubs plan and execute their initiatives.
How It Works
Applications will be accepted monthly, with submissions due by the 20th of each month from November 2024 through September 2025. Clubs interested in applying will need to outline their program goals and target groups. ABA will review applications and provide funding decisions by the 20th of the following month. This fund will only support new initiatives, ensuring fresh opportunities and innovations within Auckland’s badminton community.

The fund is designed to encourage creative ideas that foster community growth, such as:
