Badminton Auckland is saddened to acknowledge the passing of Ken Ford, a cherished member of our community. Ken’s contributions to the sport spanned decades, from his early days as a talented player to his dedicated service as Hall Manager at the Auckland Badminton Hall through much of the 1980s and 1990s.

A formidable competitor, Ken won the Balmoral Club men's doubles championship multiple times and proudly represented Auckland. His achievements also included a National Veteran Championship title, and his lifelong commitment to the sport was recognised with Life Membership at the Balmoral Club.

Beyond his own accomplishments, Ken’s love for badminton extended to his family. His wife, Lynne, also a Balmoral Club Life Member, and his son Darryl and daughter-in-law Janine, all shared in his passion for the game.

Our thoughts are with Ken’s family and friends during this time. His legacy and impact on the Auckland badminton community will not be forgotten.
