The Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) is proud to announce the return of Li Feng—widely regarded as the most influential badminton coach in New Zealand’s history.
A former international player for China who later represented New Zealand, Li Feng has made a lasting impact on the sport across generations. Her past tenure as Head Coach of New Zealand, and her leadership during ABA’s era of dominance, cemented her legacy as a transformative figure in badminton. Over the decades, she has mentored many of the country’s top athletes, playing a pivotal role in shaping some of New Zealand’s most successful careers.
Now, Li Feng returns to ABA with a renewed mission: to nurture and develop the next generation of badminton talent. Her focus will be on working with younger athletes, providing them with a strong technical foundation to support long-term success at both national and international levels.
“We are incredibly grateful to have Li Feng back on board,” says Hamish Meacheam, General Manager of Auckland Badminton. “Her experience, vision, and dedication are unmatched. With Li guiding our emerging players, we’re confident that the next generation will not only uphold ABA’s proud legacy, but also elevate badminton in New Zealand to unprecedented heights.”
Li Feng’s return signals a major milestone in ABA’s commitment to athlete development and high-performance coaching.
