Auckland Badminton Association (ABA) has introduced two important operational updates this month, including the launch of a new online booking system and an update to court hire arrangements at ABA Stadium.

These changes are part of ABA’s broader focus on improving the customer experience, increasing transparency, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our facilities. 

Introducing VenuePro: ABA’s New Online Booking Platform

We are pleased to confirm that VenuePro is now fully operational as ABA’s new online booking system.

Over recent weeks, the ABA team has worked extensively behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition, including the successful transfer of memberships, existing bookings, and account balances. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this changeover.

VenuePro brings several enhanced features for court users, clubs, and groups, including:

• Greater flexibility – clubs and groups can now cancel their own bookings up to 24 hours in advance, compared to the previous 48-hour requirement
• Improved system integration – a more robust and scalable platform that supports future growth
• Cost savings – ABA will save several thousand dollars per month through this change, allowing those funds to be reinvested into areas of strategic importance for the badminton community

VenuePro is also an integrated system. In the coming months, ABA will connect retail and point-of-sale systems, opening the door to new initiatives such as customer loyalty programmes and limited-time court pricing specials.

Updates to Court Hire Pricing

Alongside the booking system upgrade, ABA has updated its court hire pricing following consultation with clubs and groups.

Over time, the previous pricing structure had become complex and fragmented, with multiple membership types, bespoke arrangements, and inconsistent rates. This created challenges around transparency, fairness, and consistency for court users.

ABA also has a clear eye on the future. Demand for courts at ABA Stadium remains extremely high, and new facility development is the only long-term solution. To partner on future facility builds, ABA must take practical steps to strengthen its financial position and build appropriate reserves.

The updated pricing structure is designed to be clearer, more consistent, and more sustainable.

Key changes to note:

• Club weekend bookings: increasing from $21/hour to $23/hour
• Club weekday court rate: $30/hour, now applied more consistently
• Affiliated Members' bookings: increasing from $22/hour to $28/hour
• Group bookings: increasing from $35/hour to $36/hour
